Gold Ring Scheme

Rings are supplied by the Elite Club and only these rings can compete in the race.
Rings will be registered by the Elite club Sec to the nominated Loft.
To date they have always been NWHU rings.
Each ring is £10
No restriction on the number of rings anyone can buy.
The race to date has been flown from Darlington. (app 185mls to Aberdeen)
Rings can be purchased by anyone but the birds MUST be flown by a pigeon
fancier in the North section, (G) (section (G) defined by SNFC)
Birds are convoyed by The Dundee/Angus Federation.
Race is controlled by Dundee/Angus Federation race controller/s.
This means the birds must navigate their own way from Dundee/Angus area on their own making it challenging.

History

Run by the Elite club for the first time in 2024.

Originally for members and only was soon opened to family and friends then to anyone. At the time all birds had to be race by club members only.

The Prize Fund For 2024.

£1,140.

2025 changes:
Open the Gold Ring Scheme to everyone.
Pigeon Fanciers out with the North section can purchase rings, ring their birds and gift them to any fancier in the North section to race.
Non fanciers can purchase ring/s and get a pigeon fancier to ring bird/s on there behalf and race them.
This allows anyone to have a pigeon without a loft, and have an interest in pigeon racing.

Prizes won can either be:
100% to the purchaser of the ring
50% / 50% split.

This allowed the Gold Ring Scheme to reach an incredible total of £3,500 a total never seen before in the history of racing in the North Section.

2026 Changes.
If the person flying the bird/s is in agreement the complete winnings can be donated to a cause. i.e. Charity, Transport Fund or anything you wish.

I received this is from the members of the Buchan Model Stock Car Club. Another club participating in the Gold ring race 2026 and donating any winnings to our Federation Transport Fund. Amazing and THANKS Very Much.

W Davidson will be rearing & racing 4 birds and I McKay will have the other 2.
