Federation

Membership

Federation members are gathered from any Club that applies to join the Federation at their AGM. You do not join the Federation, you join a club within the Federation. The Federation consists of clubs not members.

Fees

Fees are payable by loft and at the present they are £300 per year collected by the club and forwarded to the Fed treasurer.

Object

To organise transport for affiliated clubs, collate and publish a result. Organise meetings, race points, shows or functions to manage the day to day running of the Federation.

Officials

Officials are appointed at the Federation AGM held in December each year.
They appoint a race controller to check weather forecasts, contact other race controllers and fanciers and decide when the birds are liberated, then forward the information to the club Secretaries. They appoint a race committee who decide on the race program each year. (one member from each club) They also have a Federation council consisting of approved club members who make decisions on Federation business, complaints and also deal with any disputes.

Transport

The transporter is the property of the Federation, who appoint a transport manager to organise and run it. Our current vehicle is 7.5t holds 1,728 pigeons allowing for 18 per crate. This vehicle is too large for us with a membership of 38 (we had 99 in 2007) so we are in the process of replacing it for season 2027.

The Federation do not run races, they collect and transport affiliated clubs birds to race points.

Further information can be gained via the Federation hand book.

Vaccine

Th Federation MUST have a record of all members vaccine sheets on the vehicle at all times.
